Bigger. Better. More.

It all boils down to this: we want bigger, better, more. Bigger numbers of women as head coaches in all NCAA divisions. Better career opportunities for women coaches at every level. More money–and finally equal compensation–for women coaches.

The Alliance exists to offer support and resources to women coaches, to retain women in the coaching profession, and to create a better future for the next generation of female coaches. If you share these goals, join now.

Whether you are just starting out in your career, or beginning to consider your legacy after years in the game, the Alliance has something for you.

In 1972, the world changed for women athletes and coaches. Title IX opened the door of opportunity and made it possible for us to pursue our athletic dreams. But when it comes to women in the coaching profession, there is still work to be done to level the playing field. That’s why the work of the Alliance of Women Coaches is so important, and that’s why we need women like you to join our team.

Price_Missy“I’m a long-time member of my coaching association, but the Alliance provides a different set of resources and networking opportunities. We are coaches first and I use the Alliance to connect and interact with coaches across sports. The sharing of ideas and information is practical and valuable. Besides that, it’s fun to meet other women coaches and share our experiences. Since joining the Alliance, I’ve learned more about coaching as a profession, beyond the tactics and technical aspects of my sport. Joining the Alliance is a mutual benefit, both you and the association will grow stronger from the contribution you bring. That’s what makes it unique and that’s why I’m proud to be a member.”

What’s in It for You?

Education and Career Development
Find the skills and support you need to advance your career and coaching skills through Alliance educational programs, resources and initiatives. The Alliance offers educational resources, like-minded networks, newsletters, job postings, inspiration, support and more – in addition to regional, national and digital programs that help our coaches build stronger skills and continue to develop professionally throughout their careers. Partnerships such as LGBT SportSafe and Coaches, Inc. allow us to better serve more women in coaches in more ways across campus and legal platforms.

A Community of Like-Minded Professionals
The Alliance is an active community of women coaches. Together, we are a network of role models and mentors for each other and for women coaches at every level. Membership means having support through every stage of your career, access to professional advancement and learning opportunities, legal guidance and answers to Title IX questions, opportunities for collaboration with other coaches, and much more.

An Advocate and Respected Voice
Individually, our voices may not always be heard, but together we are a respected collective voice. We advocate for and contribute to the discussion of important issues for women coaches at the national level, including retaining and increasing the numbers of women in the coaching profession, diversity in the coaching community, gender equity and much more!

Coaches can REACH out to the Alliance for…

Resources to build stronger skills and advance in the profession.

Education to enhance the coaching experience beyond the X’s and O’s through the NCAA Women Coaches Academy, regional workshops, and other educational and inspirational platforms.

Advocacy that is both personal and professional.

Connections across sports, across divisions, across conferences, across the nation.

Hope that they can stay in the game and that others will follow them.
