Kari Escobedo

Sr. Vice President, Information Technology
Seattle Mariners

Kari Escobedo is in her 1st season with the Mariners after being named Sr. Vice President, Information Technology in Feb. 2021. She leads all areas of technology for the Mariners in both baseball and business operations.

Immediately prior to joining the Mariners, Kari served as Sr. VP and CIO for Bartell Drugs since 2018. Kari joined Kaiser Permanente in 2015, leading the Enterprise & Digital Services areas. She served as VP, Enterprise Systems Development for T-Mobile, leading the technology team responsible for the development and delivery of solutions for the Customer Retail & Enterprise Systems that supported the T-Mobile business transformation. Before joining T-Mobile, Kari was the Director of Information Management for Starbucks. And before Starbucks, Kari held leadership positions at Microsoft and Visio.

Escobedo graduated from Cal State-Fullerton, where she played Div. 1 Softball for the Titans, with degree in Business Administration. Kari is a member of the Board of Advisors (College of Business & Economics) at Western Washington University, she is also an Advisor for the UW Master of Science of Information Systems, as well as a board member of WeCOACH, which is dedicated to the recruitment, advancement, and retention of women coaches of all sports and levels. Kari also enjoys participating in a variety of organizations dedicated to the empowerment of children and women in STEM fields through IGNITE and Code.org where she regularly speaks at schools and mentors young girls.

Kari resides in Seattle with her wife Liz, four children (Kelsey, Kylie, Ryan, and Alexandra) and a menagerie of pets (dogs Lulubelle, Elenore and Theodore Roosevelt and kitten Hank “The Tank” Aaron).
